2014 also marks significant expansion for Three Twins, as the company gears up to open an ice cream factory in Sheboygan, Wisconsin to supplement local operations in Petaluma as well as fulfill increasing demand nationwide. The Sheboygan production facility has six times the capacity of the Petaluma factory.

Founding Twin, Neal Gottlieb started Three Twins Ice Cream in 2005. He was the company’s only employee, with no previous ice cream-making experience. Armed with $70,000 of personal savings and a $25,000 loan from The Bank of Mom and Dad, Gottlieb worked 90 hours a week in a remote storefront in San Rafael, Calif. In 2010, Three Twins opened a 4,200-square-foot ice cream factory in Petaluma and rapidly increased distribution from to 50 to hundreds of locations. It is the largest dedicated organic ice cream factory in the United States. Today, Three Twins also operates five scoop shops in and around San Francisco, and the company currently employs approximately 80 people. With the Sheboygan factory, Three Twins plans to continue expanding and sharing their sweet organic treats with the country.

Today, Three Twins is available in over 2,000 major grocers, natural food and specialty shops, convenience stores and corner markets across the United States, including Whole Foods Market, The Fresh Market and various independent grocers. A selection of restaurants and scoop shops nationwide also carry the brand.
